Orientation Programme for Parents and Students
A parent is a teacher at home and a teacher is a parent in school and the child is the centre of our universe.
With this thought, My Public School had organized an orientation programme on Saturday i.e. 15th April 2023, for the Parents of Classes VI, VII and VIII to familiarize them with the curriculum, rules and regulations of the school, teaching methodologies and the co-scholastic activities.
Welcoming Parents to the new Academic Session (2023-24) Principal Ms. Sangeeta Rekhi ma’am started the Orientation by addressing parents about the rules and regulations of the school. She spoke a length about the benefits of effective communication between parents and teachers; she laid emphasis on a strong connection with the school patrons. She even sought support and suggestions from the parents to provide best education and growth opportunities to the children of the school, and shared few tips on good parenting. At last she also spoke about the implementation of new National Education Policy and upcoming transformations in the current education systems. She urged the students to take up multidisciplinary research and motivated them to acquire skills for becoming competent.
Moving further to make Parents understand about learning by doing and also to make them aware about ‘Experiential Learning’ students presented PPT’ s on various topics such as “Year of Millets” highlighting the importance of nutrients in our daily life. They also presented various PPT’s showcasing their work and the way they are thought in school. Parents were happy to see their children performing. They were spellbound to witness Maths activities conducted by students of Grade VI and VII such as knowing a day of any date through number codes and exploring formulae of Area of Circle chapter through Pizza activity demonstrating live example and thus giving important message to parents, not to be mislead by the offers given by various firms.
Students and teachers got accolades from Principal ma’am for organising such wonderful activities and presentations thus highlighting various skills learnt by students in school which in turn leads to their holistic development. In the end the orientation programme proved to be a sincere effort made by the school in educating the parents to look after and guide their children in a proper manner. It also helped in evolving a common teaching strategy and helped the parents in identifying suitable follow up methods to reinforce the learning process of their children.
