INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY CELEBRATION @ MYPS

21ST JUNE 2022

Yoga is not just an exercise, instead, it includes different practices to promote mindfulness, spirituality, peacefulness, and good well-being.
My Public School celebrated International Yoga Day with much fervor and enthusiasm. This year the theme for the celebration of International Yoga Day is “Yoga for humanity” Students participated energetically to mark the importance of this day. The physical instructor of the school Mr. Suresh Kumar demonstrated various asanas followed by warm up exercises performed by the students and teachers and the importance of these was also explained simultaneously. Students also made charts, wrote slogans, and participated in awareness rally highlighting the importance of yoga in one’s life by providing tools for practicing compassion, mindfulness, generosity, focus, strength, and flexibility. The students, school management and staff were encouraged to practice regular yoga to remain fit and improve concentration through meditation sessions. Yoga, being a catalyst for mental well-being embodies the unity of mind and body. Nukkad Natak was performed by students to create awareness about the importance of yoga in one’s life and how it helps us to persevere to be patient and work towards the achievement of our goals. Children from all classes took part in a mass yoga and they took it to a notch by performing asanas that were synchronised gracefully.
In the end, our aim was to motivate everyone to stay strong, build up immunity and get into the regular practice of following a fitness regime.
