Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity”

-John F. Kennedy

As rightly said by John Kennedy that physical fitness leads to a healthy body. With this dictum, My Public School celebrated One- of- its- Kind’ Sports Day i.e. ‘Santa’s PLAY DATE’ on 24th December 2022 under the aegis of Sports Club ‘UDAAN’

We believe that play enhances every aspect of a child’s development and learning. In fact, it is a child’s window to the external world and forms the foundation of social, intellectual, physical and emotional skills that are requisite for success in school as well as life. We incorporate sports as an integral part of our education where we allow students to explore different environments by providing them with playfields which develop their gross motor skills in the very early stages of life. Apart from giving students opportunities, we foster their level of confidence with words of appreciation along with prizes and certificates at events organised in the school.

So what was better to start off the day with the freshness of Christmas vibes. The entire campus was festooned with colourful streamers, balloons and a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. It was a day filled with fervour and exhilaration, amidst a lot of fun and frolic.

The day commenced with a welcome dance by our tiny tots who left the spectators spellbound. Students from Grades Nursery to X participated in various races like the book balance race, musical chairs, head, shoulders and knees race, coordination skill, balloon bursting, skip counting race, skipping race, a slow cycling race and so on. Fun time tug-of-war and badminton match by the senior wing between the houses added to the zeal.

The highlight of the day was Yoga and Karate presented by the students which mesmerized the audience with their energetic performances.

All in all, it was indeed a thrilling experience for children. The children learnt a lot about true sportsmanship and the value of playing games.

Students were seen playing with true team spirit and the celebration of Sports Day echoed in the corridors and fields. The winners who made it to the victory felt proud of being awarded medals, certificates, and appreciation. Principal Ms Sangeeta Rekhi congratulated students for their accolades and motivated them. She laid emphasis on the need to participate. She said that it is not important to win. It is participation that makes all the difference. She congratulated her team for making it a huge success.

In the Closing Ceremony, the Meet saw its culmination with a choir song which gave the grand finale performance……
