INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
15th August 2022 Monday
Long years ago we made a tryst with destiny, and now the time comes when we shall redeem our pledge… At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to LIFE and FREEDOM.
With this thought Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and ardour at My Public School. The school was decorated with tricolour balloons and flags, which welcomed the eyes of all to the function. The day highlighted the never to be forgotten, glory and sacrifices made by the great martyrs, the warriors of India.
The ceremony started at 8:30 AM on the school ground followed by a series of brilliant acts by our Mypians like short skit, dances, speeches, songs, and other enactments to uplift the sense of Human Excellence, ‘One-ness and Nationalism’ in all our hearts.
To commemorate the sovereignty of our Nation, Vice Principal Mrs. Nazia Adil hoisted the tricolor flag and all in unison sang the National Anthem and expressed the joy of our freedom. The function began with the melodious voices of a choir group singing the Patriotic song- that awakened everyone’s feelings towards the Motherland.
Najaf and Areeba of grade IX took us down memory lane by enlightening everyone about the importance of being united and sacrifices of
our freedom fighters. Both the speakers exhorted the students to become ideal citizens of the country.
Students of grade III and IV were dressed up as freedom fighters where they spoke about them along with famous slogans.
Students of kindergarten and middle wing gave a zealous dance performance, showcasing their feeling of festivities, and all were drenched in independence day vibes
A short skit was performed by students of grade V which evoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the students and thus spreading the message of ‘Unity in Diversity’.
The program culminated with a Vote of Thanks.
In the end, sweets were distributed to the students. Indeed, it was a day of joy, a day to love and respect our country and make it a better place for Indians to live and experience freedom, peace and Unity in Diversity.
